Opal M. Kruse, 87, of Commerce City, died Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2008, in Northglenn. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 19, at Tennant Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. Anthony Catholic Church, with the Rev. Robert L. Wedow officiating. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery.

Opal was born on March 25, 1920, to Jacob and Opal (Frank) Nab in Hillrose. She attended school through the eighth grade.

She worked at St. Lukes Hospital in Denver, retiring after 25 years. She was married to Kelburn Headley for 14 years, and later to John Kruse for 14 years. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, visiting with her children and grandchildren, and loving life.

She is survived by her daughter, Mary Hawrylyshyn and husband Mike of Arizona; sons, Kelburn Paul Headley and wife Sharon, Ronald Headley, and Allen Headley, all of Denver, Marvin Headley and wife Karen of Arvada, Terry Headley and wife Jeannie of Thornton, and Melvin Kruse and wife Nancy of Brighton; brother, Joe Nab of Oregon; 22 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Opal and Jacob Nab; brothers, John and Albert Nab; sisters, Barbara Stoltz, Katherine Korbe, Rose Vickers, Mary Gentz, and Pauline Luft.
