Obituary: The Miller County Autogram Sentinel, Thursday, July 16, 1959

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 29, at the Brumley Baptist Church for Mrs. Nora Thompson, 73, who died June 26 at Wallace Hospital in Lebanon. Mrs. Thompson suffered a stroke June 16 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Rollins DeGreffenreid.
The Rev. W.V. Williams pastor of Hillcrest Baptist Church of Lebanon, was the officiating minister.

Interment was in the Hawkins Cemetery near Brumley under the direction of the Holman Funeral Home of Lebanon. Paulbearers were Ralph Long, Harold Whittle, Rawl Devore, Joe Davis, Kent Crane and Ted Stamper.

Nora Thompson, daughter of William and Sarah Campbell, was born in Hamilton County, Ill., March 3, 1886. She was married to Elmer E. Thompson of Brumley March 10, 1910. They had six children: Cyril Thompson of McLeansboro, Ill., Ray Thompson of the home, Mrs. Dorothy DeGraffenreid of Lebanon, Mrs. Aileen Colvin of Lakeland, Fla., Mrs. Alice Meredith of St. Louis, and Mrs. Gladys Nelson of Benton Harbor, Mich.

Survivors are the six children, six grandchildren, and two brothers, Charles Bozarth of McLeansboro, Ill., and Dr. James A. Bozarth of Los Angeles, Calif.

She became a Christian early in life and in 1929 joined the Brumley Baptist Church where she remained a member until her illness. She was preceded in deth by her husband who died Dec. 25, 1951.
