He was born March 24, 1886 at Drachausen, Brandenbrug, Germany. He was baptized and confirmed in Germany and received his education in that country.
He came to the United States at the age of 12 years and lived in Kossuth county. On October 21, 1909 he was married to Laura Voss at State Center. They lived on a farm near Colo until 1936 when he retired and the family moved to State Center.
He is survived by his widow, three daughters, Mrs Mabel Lane of Des Moines, Mrs Lloyd (Ruth) Saltzman of State Center and Mrs Earl (Goldie) Walker of Rhodes. Also surviving are grandchildren and three sisters, Mrs Annelise Gruner of Syracuse, N.SY., Mrs Anna Zachow and Mrs Mary Spiltner of Germany.
Mr Schulze was a member of St Paul Lutheran Church.
Funeral services were held today, Thursday, from the St Paul Lutheran Church with the Rev LaVerne Meinecke officiating. Burial was in Hillside cemetery.
