Clarence Frohwein, 57, who has been in failing health for some time, passed away Sunday afternoon at his home in State Center.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at St John's Lutheran church with the Rev Walter B L Standes officiating. Interment was in Hillside cemetery.

Mr Frohwein was born May 24, 1901 on a farm northeast of State Center, the son of Henry and Minnie Schuler Frohwein. He was united in marriage to Ida Fricke on October 24, 1922 and the couple farmed the home place until his retirement in 1952 when they moved to State Center.

He is survived by his widow, two daughters, Mrs Pearl Stolzman of Laurel and Mrs Nancy Weuve of Marshalltown; one son Raymond of State Center. Also surviving is a sister, Mrs Albert Eggers of Okoboji and nine grandchildren.
