Ida Frohwein, 89, State Center, died early Sunday morning, June 6th, at the Villa del Sol in Marshalltown.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at St John Lutheran church, north of State Center, with Rev Marvin Flanscha officiating. Burial will follow in the Hillside cemetery.

Born August 24, 1903 on a farm near State Center, she was the daughter of Frederick and Elizabeth Wolken Fricke. She received her education in the John school of rural State Center and St John Parochial School.

On October 4, 1922 she was united in marriage to Clarence Frohwein in St John Church Parsonage. They resided on a farm northeast of State Center, moved to Marshalltown in 1952 and then to State Center in 1953.

She was a member of St John Lutheran church, the Neighborly Helpers Club, St John Ladies Aid and the State Center Senior Citizens.

Surviving are a son, Raymond Frohwein of State Center, two daughters, Pearl (Mrs Ben) Stolzman of Marshall and Nancy (Mrs Andrew) DeKock of Marshalltown; twelve grandchildren, three sisters, Marie Eggers of State Center, Laura Nehring of State Center, Inez (Mrs Cleve) Badger of State Center, one brother, Elmer Fricke of Pinedale, Wyoming and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1959, 3 sisters, 5 brothers, her parents and 1 great grandson.
