Sebastian immigrated to the US abt 1874. He settled in Rochester, Monroe Co., NY where he married Whilhemina SCHOTT on 6 May 1884.
He was naturalized in 1887.
From 1889 to 1897 he is employed as a saloon keeper at various address in Rochester.
In 1899 he is listed in the Cleveland City Directory employed as a miller, living at 142 Wade Ave. Cleveland, OH.
By 1900 he is working as a trucker on the Cleveland Shipping docks.
in 1913 he is found with a new residential address of 2900 Wade Ave, but that is probably due to the City of Cleveland's renumbering addresses and renaming some streets.
The 1920 US Census says Sebastian was a laborer in a hardware store and living on rent at 2911 Wade Ave. He said his parents were both from Bayern, Germany, where he was born.
By 1937 he and wife Anna had moved in with their daughter Helen at 5807 Clinton Ave, Cleveland and was no longer employed. He passed from myocardial insufficiency. His funeral took place at St. Colman Church in Cleveland.
His daughter Helen remembered him as loving children and was a gentle man and hard-working, never expecting free help.
