Lennie Comer, formerly of Gatesville, died Dec. 17 in an Austin nursing home. She was 96.
Funeral services were held Wednesday at Scott's Funeral Home Chapel in Gatesville with the Rev. Walter Rose officiating. Burial followed in Restland Cemetery.
She was born, reared and attended school in Gatesville. On Oct. 19, 1919, she married Mike Comer and they resided in Purmela. He preceded her in death on Aug. 26, 1966. She then returned to Gatesville.
She was a member of the Purmela Baptist Church.
She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Nina Skelton, on Aug. 10, 1988.
Survivors include two daughters, Louise Maxwell of Waco and Bobbie Wright of Red Oak; one son, C.B. Comer of Austin; one sister, Agnes Walters of Hewitt; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
The family requests memorials be made to one's favorite charity.
