Born in WilkesBarre, on July 23, 1948, Mrs. Young was the daughter of Rita M. (Filicko) Kopec of West Grove and the late John S. Kopec.
Mrs. Young worked for the Internal Revenue Service in Washington D.C., and following her retirement, she was a partner in Calvert Commercial Real Estate, Prince Frederick, Md. She was a member of the Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament Roman Catholic Church in Washington.
Mrs. Young was the wife of the late Samuel A. Young and is survived by four brothers, Daniel Kopec and wife, Pamela of Baton Rouge, La., Raymond Kopec of Glen Mills, Joseph Kopec and wife, Brynne of Marlton, N.J., and Michael Kopec of Mankato, Minn.; one sister, Jeanne Laucks and husband, Samuel of Dallastown; brothers-in-law, Robert Young and wife, Linda of Rockville, Md., and Thomas Young of Vale, Colo.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Theresa Kopec.
Interment was in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
