Mrs. Henry Orthmann, 99,
of Paullina died Wednesday,
Jan. 17 at P r a i r i e View
Nursing Home in Sanborn.
Mrs. Orthmann was O'Brien
County's oldest resident.
Funeral services were held
Saturday morning at the Presbyterian
Church of Paullina
with Rev. Carl Soderberg
officiating. Burial was in Prairie View
Cemetery, under the care of
the Gaudian-Eldridge Funeral
Homes.

Mrs. Minnie D Orthmann,
the former Minnie Appeldorn,
was born April 24, 1879 in
Blue Island, III She came to
Iowa in 1885.

She was married in 1901 to
Henry Orthmann They farmed
in the Paullina and Sutherland
area for many years and
moved to Paullina in 1927.
Mr. Orthmann died in 1933.
She had been a resident of
Paullina until 1972 when she
entered the nursing home.

Survivors include a daughter
Velma, Mrs. Harry Wittrock
of Paullina, two sons,
Herman and Edwin, both of
Sutherland, a brother, Gus , of
Pipestone, Minn., nine grandchildren,
27 great grandchildren,
and four great great
grandchildren.
