His parents Michael Sr. Danner 1696-1782 & wife Anna Bend arrived at Philadelphia 27 Sep 1727 on the ship "James Goodwill". Also on this ship was Hans Dewalt Leatherman 1690-1760, father of the famous Brethren Rev. Daniel Leatherman 1718-1797. Michael Jr. Danner was born 26 Dec 1734 in Lancaster Co., PA (IGI-9,020) probably in the Kruetz Creek Valley, Hellam Township (Wrightsville area) where his father obtained a license to settle that same year (Monocacy & Catoctin by Schildknecht). By about 1736, the family lived near Black Rock, PA where they are listed as members of the Black Rock Brethren Congregation in 1738. Black Rock is very near the MD border and a 1736 letter to Governor Ogle from Michael Danner and neighbor Henry Hendricks proves they were involved in "Cresap's War" which was the border dispute between MD & PA. By about 1750 Michael Sr. had moved to the north part of Hanover, York Co., PA and was one of the founders of the famous Bairs Mennonite Meeting House & Cemetery. Michael Jr. Danner & Susannah Kehr were married about 1758 in York Co., PA (IGI-9,020), probably at the Little Conewago Brethren Church where they were listed as members in 1770.

Father of Magdelena, Barbara, Anna, Jonathan, Samuel, Elizabeth and Michael III.
