Josef and Rozara (Rosalie) Jirasek brought their family to Texas December 17, 1867 settling at New Ulm, Austin County.
Josef's sister Terezie Jirasek Siler was instrumental in encouraging the family to move. Their family story can be found in "Czech Pioneers of the Southwest" by Estelle Hudson & Henry R. Maresh, 1934, p. 286.
