Jacqueline "Jackie" Page, 71, of Little Rock, died peacefully on January 8, 2010 at the Arkansas Hospice Inpatient Center in Little Rock.

Jackie was born in Strasbourg in the Alsace-Lorraine Region of France and lived there during WWII.

After the American soldiers liberated her hometown, Jackie and her family moved to Luxembourg City, Luxembourg where in 1958 she met and later married her soul mate and lifelong partner, Hal Page who was a US Marine stationed at the US Embassy. After a romantic honeymoon in Paris and a brief assignment in Switzerland, Hal brought his young bride home to California. Jackie became a naturalized US citizen and a devoted military wife and mother.

Jackie was a thoughtful and generous person who put the needs of her family and friends above her own. She was also described as a most gracious and welcoming hostess to any of her guests, and greeted strangers with kindness and respect. Jackie's Christian faith sustained her through the loss of her soul mate, and continued to give her strength to face her own illness. She was the first to volunteer for anything that would bring comfort to others, including helping at her church's food pantry ministry, prayer ministry, and delivering food and running errands for homebound friends.

Her son Jack writes, "Mom lives on through her influence. I know not one of us could find another who has influenced our lives in any way similar. She's probably embarrassed for me doing this, saying these accolades and praise. So to make her more comfortable I will acknowledge that she isn't perfect and all her influence is not for the better - as for me, I know I could probably do well never having been introduced to the pure pleasure of a butter and chocolate sandwich."

Jackie is preceded in death by her husband Harold "Hal" Page, and parents Nicolas and Yvonne Kuffer-Fichter and a great nephew, Harrison Tarter.

She is survived by her son Daniel "Dan" Page and daughter-in-law Margaret, grandchildren Logan and Katie, of Rowlett, Texas; daughter Diane Harper and son-in-law Jim of Little Rock; son Jack Page and daughter-in-law Kelly, grandchildren Benjamin and Marley of Maumelle; brother Daniel Fichter and sister- in-law Gabrielle of Luxembourg City, Luxembourg, Europe; brother-in-law Edward Page and his wife Ching of Los Angeles; sister-in-law Joy Hicks and her husband Rick of Dry Prong, Louisiana; niece Nathalie Barnes and family in Panama, Central America; niece Tania Nevelos and family of Manila, Philippines; niece Page Jacqueline Tarter and family of Dry Prong, Louisiana; nephews Micah and Jason Page; and her son Dan's beloved mother-in-law Rose Lipscomb of England, Arkansas. Additionally, she has loved and is loved by a host of "cousins" and church family from the Believer's Sunday school class and congregation of First Christian Church.

The funeral service was at First Christian Church with Reverend Kevin Robbins and Reverend Hart Moore officiating. Interment was at Pinecrest Memorial Park.
