VINCENT LUKE ZIMMERER

Funeral Mass of Christian Burial for Vincent Luke Zimmerer, 90, of Lindsay will be held Monday, Jan. 18, 2010 at 2 p.m. at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Centennial Hall in Lindsay. Arrangements are under the direction of Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.

Vincent died Jan. 16, 2010 at St. Richard's Villa in Muenster.

Vincent farmed and was in business with his two brothers, Henry and Bruno, as Zimmerer & Co. until partnering with his son, Rudy, in a farming and used machinery operation. He served on the Board of Directors of Cooke County Electric Cooperative Association for forty years and was a founding member of Cooke County Farm Bureau. He served on the church committee that built the Lindsay High School, grade school and cafeteria. He was a lifelong member of Knights of Columbus and a member and officer of the Cooke County Antique Tractor Club. He was a beloved husband, father and grandfather.

Vincent is survived by his wife of 61 years, LuElla; sons and daughters-in-law, Rudy and Claudia Zimmerer, Jason and Nikki Zimmerer; daughters and sons-in-law, Carol and Roger Luttmer and Susie and David Jones; grandchildren, Julie Perez, Emily Rinner, Andy Zimmerer, Pat Zimmerer, Laura Zimmerer, Rachel Zimmerer, Elizabeth Freeman, Maggie Steele, Sara Walters, Greg Luttmer, Parker Jones, Lily Jones, Zach Zimmerer and Ryan Zimmerer; five great-grandchildren and sibling, Sister Dorothy Theresa Zimmerer C.D.P.

He was preceded in death by his parents, I.A. and Helena Kubis Zimmerer and brothers, Francis, Henry, Paul, Bruno and Leonard.

Rosary was held Sunday, Jan. 17, 2010 at 7 p.m. in Centennial Hall.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Peter's Catholic Church Restoration Fund.
