A native of Winn parish, Mr. Davis had lived in New Mexico seven years.
Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. today at the New Hope Methodist Church at Dodson with the Rev. Dan Lemmons officiating, assisted by the Rev. L. G. Shaw.
Interment followed in the church cemetery under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home of Jonesboro.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Mattie Faye Davis, Hobbs, N.M.; five daughters, Mrs. Mickie Holmes, Lynell Davis, Margaret, Linda Gayle Doris, all of Hobbs, N.M., and a stepdaughter, Mrs. Faye Lasuzzo, Monroe; his mother, Mrs. F. O. Davis, Dodson; one brother, R. C. Davis, Baton Rouge; five sisters, Mrs. Charles Tullos, Tullos, Mrs. Lloyd Smith, Dodson, Mrs. Alice Mobley and Miss Mildred Davis, both of Shreveport, and Mrs. E. L. Barton, Hodge; and three grandchildren.
