Daughter of Francis Eugene and Ida Arabelle (Curtis) Butler, Dorothy received her primary education in Los Angeles, CA. At the age of 16, she moved with family to Portland, OR where she attended Business College. She married Lewiston James Bagley Dec 25, 1911 in Svensen, Clatsop Co, OR. Dorothy was active in community work, a member of the Knappa Ladies Aid Society and Missionary Circle, and had been a home extension worker. She was survived by 6 children: Lewiston James Jr, Arabelle, Gwendolyn, Francis, Eldred, and Richard. She had been widowed in 1942 due to a logging accident which caused her husband's early death. People who knew and remember Dorothy say she was blessed with a very pleasant, happy, and agreeable disposition and was deeply loved by her family.
