Born in Germany as well as her first husband, it is written she came over to American June 4, 1887 and married Frank Ilg November 25, 1889 in St. Louis, Missouri. She did not have it easy. During her life she gave birth to 9 children with only 4 surviving until adult hood. Two of those only survived to their 20s. William died in the war. She also lost her husband, May 7, 1901 unexpectedly. Her youngest child was only a few months old. This is documented in the date book that was passed down to my grandmother. It was originally written in German, but transcribed into English. Her first few children were buried in Holy Ghost Cemetery before it was closed and the land was sold. There are no removal records known to exist. The rest of her family is buried in Mount Olive Cemetery where she is located, except for Joseph & Margaret Ilg whom were cremated. The family did not have a lot of money, as there are no headstones for most of them. She was married to Jacob John Baumgartner (#47188693) on December 7, 1905. They separated or divorced at some point. On her death records, it has Baumgartner listed as her last name along with Ilg.
