HOLLYWOOD, FLA - Paul Diamond, the retired owner and operator of Wurtsboro Steam Laundry, and former 80-year resident of Wurtsboro, N.Y., died Thursday, Nov. 13 at Memorial Regional Hospital, Hollywood. He was 93.

The son of the late Solomon and Rose Chevloe Diamond, he was born Aug. 14, 1904, in Russia.

He was a past president of the Wurtsboro Hebrew Congregation and a member for 38 years; charter member of the Wurtsboro Fire Department and past master and current member of the Fallsburg (N.Y.) Lodge Masons 1122. He served as a Town of Mamakating, N.Y., councilman for 15 years and was a former president of the Mamakating school board. He was a former president of the Village of Wurtsboro Chamber of Commerce and the United Jewish Appeal.

Survivors include his wife, Ann Newman Diamond, at home; two sons, Harold Diamond of Wurtsboro and Dr. Morton Diamond of Hollywood, Fla.; one sister, Esther Levy of Wurtsboro; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several
nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by one sister, Sophie Schrifrin; and three brothers, Michael, Samuel and Jack Diamond.

Services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Joseph N. Garlick Funeral Home, 186 Broadway, Monticello.

Burial will be in Wurtsboro Hebrew Congregation, Route 209, Wurtsboro.
