Harold H. Swanson
Rolling Prairie - Harold H. "Tootie" Swanson, 74, of Rolling Prairie, formerly of Portage, died Saturday, Dec. 3, at home.
He was born March 30, 1914, in Portage, a son of Herman and Edith (Swanson) Swanson.
Mr. Swanson was a farmer and former partner of the Swanson Dairy. He was a member of the Farm Bureau of Porter County, the Associated Milk Producers Organization, and Bethany Lutheran Church in La Porte.
On June 21, 1936, in Portage he married Dorothea H. Koeppen, who died Feb. 13, 1982; on Sept. 19, 1982, in La Porte he married Ruth H. Koeppen, who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Robert of Rolling Prairie, and Duane of Florida; three sisters, Edna Anderson of Hobart, Bernice Moore of Portage and Vivian Crizer of Stroh; and eight grandchildren.
Services 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Augustana Lutheran Church, Hobart, the Revs. Ronald Deck and Dennis Meyer officiating; burial in Calvary Cemetery, Portage; visitation 7 to 9 p.m today and 2 to 5 p.m and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart.
