Adam Elsasser, a long time resident of Clay County, died Friday, January 7th, at his home near Industry at the age of 68 years, after a week's serious illness. Mr. Elsasser was a native of Germany and migrated to the United States when a young man 27 years of age, coming directly to Kansas and located near Industry. For more than forty years he has lived in that community and in that time had made a host of true friends. He was united in marriage with Mrs. Sarah Belle Poe and they were the parents of three son—Rudolph, Albert and Charles all of whom are at home.

Mr. Elsasser was quiet and retiring, but always ready to help anyone in need. He was a good neighbor and strictly honest in all his dealings. He enjoyed his home and was devoted to his wife and children. Early in life he became a member of the German Lutheran church. Besides his wife and children he leaves a brother, Christ Elsasser of this county, and several sisters in Germany.

A short service was held at the Elsasser home at 1 o'clock Sunday afternoon and the funeral services at the Evangelical church in Industry at 2 o'clock conducted by Rev. Poersch. Burial was made in the Greenridge cemetery, Messrs. Buchanan, Bletcher, Sheedy, Prehn, Barnett and Meyer acted as pallbearers.
