Eloise Bernice Hargett, 91 of West Columbia, Texas passed away Saturday, February 27, 2010 at Cypress Woods Nursing Home in Angleton. She was born August 20, 1918 in Jones Creek to John and Winnie (Beldin) French. She was a lifelong resident of Brazoria County and a member of First Baptist Church of Old Ocean.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at Baker Funeral Home in West Columbia with Alan Gentiles officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, March 1, 2010 from 5:00 p.m., to 7:00 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home in West Columbia. Pallbearers will be Lanny Henderson, Eddie Marcum, Ronnie Griffin, Craig Peterson, John P. Miller and Bob Coburn.
Eloise is preceded in death and loved by her parents; her husband, Doyle Edmund "Sport" Hargett; daughter, Winnie Lee Keith; brothers, Jake, Pete and Tex French; and sister, Ruby Hood.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law; Elizabeth Bernice and Bill Dixon of Wallis, Texas; son and daughter-in-law, John Doyle and Tanya Hargett of Sweeny; brother and sister-in-law, Ernest Wayne and Edna Faye French of West Columbia; sister and brother-in-law, Lilly Belle and Frank Minor of West Columbia; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends and special friend Leslie Gallahue.
