Born October 22, 1919 in Waynesboro, he was the son of the late Norman and Minta (Bumbaugh) Humer. He lived most of his life in the Rouzerville and Blue Ridge Summit areas until entering the nursing home in September 1998.
In his early life, Mr. Humer was a farmer. He later was employed as a heavy equipment operator for Hemp Brothers Construction until his retirement. Following his retirement, he cut and sold fire wood in the Frederick, MD area.
Mr. Humer was a member of Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #1191, Waynesboro and Blue Ridge Sportsmans Association.
Mr. Humer enjoyed hunting and spending time outdoors.
He is survived by two daughters, Roberta and Debra; one granddaughter; one sister, Martha K. Lizer of Chambersburg; one brother, Paul Humer of Warner Robins, GA; one niece and two nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Edgar Humer and Samuel Humer.
Graveside services will be held 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, December 14, 2005 in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro, with the Rev. John L. Rauch officiating.
There will be no public viewing.
