MRS. VOLLMER DIES AFTER SHORT ILLNESS

Mrs. William Vollmer, aged 64, passed away Tuesday afternoon at the Haxtun Hospital after a lingering illness of several weeks.

Mrs. Vollmer had been in failing health for some time and upon contracting pneumonia she was moved to the hospital Tuesday, where she died but a few hours later.

Besides her husband she is survived by four daughters and two sons, Mrs. Wood of Denver; Mrs. Davis of Iowa City, Iowa, Mrs. Chet Seeman of Paoli, another daughter of Hastings, Nebraska, Emil Vollmer of Riverton, Nebraska, and Arthur Vollmer of Holyoke.

Funeral services will be held from the Immanuel Lutheran church Friday afternoon at two o'clock.

Mrs. W. Vollmer, wife of William Vollmer, was born Julia Drews in Nikosken, West Prusia, July 15, 1869 and died in Haxtun, Colorado, February 17, 1931, at the age of 61 years, 7 months and 2 days.

In the year of 1883, at the age of 14, she came to America. She spent her childhood days with her parents in the vicinity of Hastings, Nebraska. On January 28, 1886, she was united in holy matrimony with William Vollmer. To this union were born four daughters: Augusta, Emma, Mary and Lilly; one son, Emil. The family lived near Hastings, Nebraska until in the year of 1913, when they moved to Colorado, near Paoli and later on to Haxtun

In the year of 1922 she became a member of the Evangelical Lutheran church of Haxtun, Colorado. She lived an exemplary Christian life, always willing to help and do good to others and above all a diligent hearer of God's word.

She leaves to mourn her departure her husband who for 45 years has been her companion; one son, Emil Vollmer of Riverton, Nebraska, four daughters, Mrs. Augusta Asmus, of Hastings, Nebraska, Mrs. Emma Davis of Iowa City, Iowa, Mrs. Mary Wood of Denver, Colorado, Mrs. Lilly Seeman of Paoli, Colorado; one guardian child, Arthur Borocksom Vollmer of Holyoke, Colorado; twelve grandchildren and one great-grandson, and many friends.

Funeral services were conducted in the Ev. Lutheran church of Haxtun, Friday afternoon at 2:00, by Rev. B. Burmester.
