Mrs. Ashley, daughter of the late Lewis and Mattie Lou Darsey Fellows, was born in Laurens County and had lived in Macon most of her life. For fifteen years, she taught in the Kindergarten at Macon Christian Academy before retiring. Mrs. Ashley attended Mikado Baptist Church. She was a kind and generous person with a servant's heart who was always willing to help in any way she could, whether it be cooking and sharing food, running errands or helping around her neighbors' and friends' homes.
A loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother, she is survived by her family whom she adored, her husband, Luther A. Ashley of Macon; her son, David Ashley of Flowery Branch; three grandchildren, Brittany Ashley, Brett (Megan) Ashley and Brooke Ashley; her great granddaughter, Paisley Brooke White; her sister, Barbara (B. H.) Dennis of North Augusta, SC; her brother, Joe (Glenda) Fellows of Byron and several nieces and nephews.
