Sarah "Sally" Ann Tice was born 28 Sept 1806, in Greenwich, Washington Co., NY. She was the daughter of Abraham Tice and Sarah ___. She married in Greenwich, 11 October 1822, Alexander Kennedy. They moved to Whiteside Co.,Illinois in 1848, settling in Mt Pleasant Township.
They had a large family, three of their sons serving in the Civil War. The youngest, Thomas Jefferson "Jeff" was killed Dec 29, 1863, in the Battle of Chickasaw Bayou.
After her husband Alexander's death in Kearney, Nebraska, Sally moved to Yamhill Co., Oregon, with her youngest daughter, Emily Jane Squire and her family. Sally died 3 Nov 1896 in McMinnville, Oregon, and was buried in Masonic Cemetery there. (Sometimes referred to as "High Heaven."
