Henry Abram Kennedy was the son of Alexander Kennedy & Sarah(Tice)Kennedy, and born 28 Oct 1840, in Washington Co., NY. The family moved to Whiteside Co., Illinois ca 1848. Henry was a Civil War veteran of Co."G", 13th Illinois Infantry. He was with his brother "Jeff" at the Battle of Chickasaw Bayou near Vicksburg, Dec 29, 1863; he was wounded but recovered. It was perhaps Henry who carved his initials in a board where Jeff was first buried on the Widow Lake's plantation.
Henry survived the War and worked in real estate near Kearney, Nebr.

He married Hellen R.___. After her death, he married Antoinette Sayres in Whiteside Co.,Ill., 11 Aug 1878.
Henry befriended his niece Anna Jacobs' husband,CWJ Alexander, (my grandfather) and helped him file a homestead claim in Nebraska.

Henry died 29 July 1893 in Kearney.(Accord.to his wife Antoinette Kennedy's application for a widow's pension)He had fallen and was found in his dooryard in an unconscious condition, with a paralytic stroke. He was buried 31 July 1893, in City of Kearney Cemetery, next to his father, Alexander Kennedy. ((Daily Hub, Kearney, Nebraska, Tuesday, August 1, 1893)
