FUNERAL SERVICE FOR A. SCHAEFER
Kaukauna-Funeral services for Andrew Schaefer, SR., 69, who died Friday at his home, were held at 9 o'clock Tuesday morning from St. Mary church, with the Rev. R. X. Steinbrecher in charge. Mr. Schaefer's death resulted from a paralytic stroke suffered last Wednesday morning although he had been in ill health for about a year.
Mr. Schaefer was born in Germany in 1852. He came to this country with his parents when he was two years old. The family settled in West Bend and later moved to Stockbridge. Mr. Schaefer married Miss Dorothy Brown in 1881 and shortly afterward moved to Kaukauna.
He is survived by his widow; five children, Frank, Devils Lake, N. D.; William, Andrew, Mrs. Joseph Bodde and Mae, Kaukauna; three brothers, August, John, Stockbridge; Joseph, North Dakota; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Abb, Kaukauna; Katherine, North Dakota and 14 grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Barney Verfurth, Steve Dietzler, Nick Britten, Joseph Mertes, John Gerend and Peter Lorrig. Interment was in St. Mary cemetery.
