Obit: Services for Mrs. Arthur (Anna C.) Volz, 88, Marengo, were held Saturday, November 19, 1977, 1:30 p.m. in the Hoover-Valentine Funeral Home, Marengo, with Rev. Franklin Schwarm of the First United Methodist Church of Marengo officiating. Mrs. Volz died Thursday night, November 17, 1977, at Rose Haven Nursing home, Marengo, where she had been a resident since May 9. Pallbearers were Noble Brockshink, Raymond and Harry Ballard, Larry Sturtz, Walter Uthoff and James Schmuecker. Interment was at the Lenox Township Cemetery near Norway. Born April 29, 1889, in Benton County, she was the daughter of Henrich and Catherine Elizabeth Selzer Kimm. She received her education in the rural Norway schools. March 25, 1918, she married Arthur George Volz at Marion. Most of her life was spent in the rural Norway area, with the exception of 13 years spent with her sister-in-law at Cedar Rapids. Survivors are her son, Walter Volz of Norway; one sister, Mrs. Albert Bowler of Fairfax; one granddaughter Mrs. Greg (Donna) Smith of Amana; and two great granddaughters. Her husband died in April 1953 and also preceding her were one daughter Ruth and two brothers.
