Obituary from the Huron Plainsman:....Martin Kamenz dies Thursday; funeral Monday.... Martin Kamenz, 98, 1341 Kansas Ave. S.E., died Thursday afternoon at St. John's Hospital. The funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Belle Prairie Township southeast of Cavour. The Rev. Reuben Schnaidt will officiate, assisted by the Rev. Fred Hallstrom. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the Welter Funeral Home Saturday or Sunday afternoon or evening. Kamenz, a retired farmer, was born April 27, 1866, in Tauer, Germany. He came to the United States in 1896 and was married in 1899 to Augusta Hein. He was babtized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith in Germany. Besides his widow he is survived by six children, one son, Walter, Huron; five daughters, Gerta, Mrs. John Thomsen and Edna, Mrs Marius Thomsen, both of Lead, SD; Elsie, Mrs. R.F. Inrig, Pitttsburgh, PA, Verna, Mrs G.H. Lemnah, McLean, VA; and Miss Anna Kamenz, Huron; 14 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
