Burial services for Mary Ellen Panek, 71, will take place on Saturday, May 1, 2010, at Ramah community Cemetery at 2 p.m. Her cremated remains will be buried next to her husband with Marvin Lewis officiating.



She was born on Jan. 27, 1939, in Kansas to Joe and Emma Grass and passed away on April 15, 2010, in Gallup.

She and her late husband Leonard were the owners and operators of the Stagecoach Café in Ramah for 20 years.

She is survived by her daughters; Lisa Lewis of Ramah, Kimberly Panek of Zuni, Jolene Thrasher of Glenwood and Michelle Panek-Keno of Decatur, Ill.; grandchildren: Michael Panek of Farmington, Kris Thrasher of Mesa, Ariz., Jason Jones of Ramah, Christina Neihardt of Leadville, Colo., Ashlee Radtke of Lakeside, Ariz., Derrick Neihardt of Ramah, Alex Neihardt of Ramah, Leonard Keno of Decatur, Ill., Tony Rain Keno of Decatur, Ill., Amethyst Eagle of Glenwood and Dillon Keno of Decatur, Ill., eight great-grandchildren; sisters: Joanne and Pauline and brother: Norman.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Leonard Panek; parents: Joe Grass and Emma Simmons-Grass; daughter: Tonya Neihardt and granddaughter: Heather Cluff.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons.

Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
