Joseph W. Gall, 91, of Alexandria, died Thursday, Feb. 21, 2008 at St. John's Medical Center in Anderson after a brief illness. He was born Feb. 16, 1917, in Tipton to William and Hilda (Peters) Gall.
He had resided in Alexandria for the past 67 years. Joe was a graduate of Tipton Higgh School with the Class of 1935. He retired from Delco-Remy, formerly of Anderson in 1981 with 43 years of employment.
He was a member of the Church of St. Mary at Alexandria. Joe enjoyed photography, golfing, music, and was an avid reader. Joe was also an expert automotive mechanic.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia (Vaughn) Gall, who he married on Oct. 26, 1940, a daughter, Sylvia Bischoff (Jeff)of Zionsville, Deb (Brian) Beuter of Westfield, Jeff (Carrie) Bescholl of Fishers, Julie (Michael) Myers, of Carmel, and Cathy (Brad) Huff of Plainfield; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, John of Anderson and Tom of Tipton; three sisters, Sister Laura Gall of Tipton, Mary Sutton of elwood and Gertrude Glotzbach of Alexandria.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Edward Gall and a sister Helen Plumer.
