Joseph Kokenge, 76, Granville, died July 7 at Orange City hospital after a lengthy illness. Services were at 10 a.. July 10 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with the Rev. Edward Hoffman officiating. Burial in the church cemetery under direction of the Fisch Funeral home in Remsen. The Rosary was recited at 5, 7:30 and 8:30 p.m. on July 9 at Spalding Hall. Mr. Kokenge was born July 11, 1898, in Alton and lived in the Alton and Granville areas all of his life. He married Catherine Kellen April 5, 1921, in LeMars and she died April 26, 1971. He farmed in the Alton area before his retirement. Survivors include three sons, Raymond of Granville, Vincent of Sioux Falls, S.D., and Virgil of New Iberia, la.; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two brothers, Cy of Hartley and Matt of George, and three sisters, Mrs. Ted (Frances) Kelin and Mrs. Gerald (Edna) McCarthy; both of Granville, and Mrs. Wilfred (Maureen) Van Bergen of Worthington, Minn.
