Robert traveled many miles and coast to coast due to his truck driving occupation. Through the years he trucked for Nauta, Burgener, Valley Steel, MEDA, Monfort retiring from Coors.
Hobbies of his included playing pool, fishing, drinking Coors beer, maintaining his flowers and yard, and "shooting the bull" with anyone that would lend an ear. Mr. Schwartz is survived by his son, Ted Schwartz, wife, Kathy, of Windsor; and grandchildren, Laurie Hatch (Eric) of Greeley, Michael Schwartz of Fort Collins, and Mark Schwartz of Johnstown; his daughter, Patty and husband, Robert Schwindt, of Fort Collins; youngest son, Bob Schwartz, wife Krista of Fort Collins, and twin grandchildren, Christopher and Katelyn Schwartz of Fort Collins. Other survivors include sisters, Jeanie Kimberling of Fort Collins and Shirley Farmer of Windsor; brothers, Howard of Fort Collins, Harry of Greeley, and Jim of Fort Collins; several nieces and nephews and many, many friends.
Those preceding him in death are his wife, Mary Jo; his parents, Henry and Lydia; brother, Clinton Schwartz and his best friend and Uncle, Henry Jordan, along with other extended relatives.
The family would like to thank the VA, Dr. Holland and the staff at the VA hospital in Cheyenne; Dr. MacFarland and staff at Front Range Cancer Specialist; the Lemay Rehab Health Center staff and the Pathways Hospice Staff.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Cancer Society, Hospice, or the Larimer County Humane Society in care of Bohlender Funeral Chapel 121 W. Olive St., Fort Collins, CO.
A celebration of Robert Schwartz's life will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2009 at Bohlender Funeral Chapel. Cremation and a private interment at Roselawn Cemetery will be completed by the immediate family.
