Funeral is Held For Mrs. Panko

Stroke is Fatal for Well Known Woman of Burr Community

Burr-(Special to The News-Press)- Funeral services were held Monday for Mrs. Augusta Wusk, 69, who died at her home near Burr Friday. Rev. E.J. Kumpf had charge of rires at the Hope Lutheran Church and interment was in the Lutheran cemetery.

She was born November 28, 1869, at Broschim, Germany, and came to this country at the age of 10 with her parents. She was married to Godfrey Panko and they lived on a farm two miles southwest of Burr. Seven children were born.

About 14 years ago Mrs. Panko became an invalid and has been confined to her home since then. She suffered a stroke December 5. She leaves her husband, three sons, Albert, Chris and Wilbur, Burr; three daughters, Emma of Burr, Mrs. Marie Abbott and Mrs. Bertha Cawley of Lincoln; two sisters, Mrs. Herman Panko of Burr and Mrs. Emma Janssen of Endicott and Seven grandchildren.

Mr. and Mrs. Chris Boslau of Kimball, D.M. Abbott and family of Lincoln, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Harms of Crab Orchard, Mrs. G. Eilers and daughter, Minnie, of Sterling, Mrs. Emma Janssen of Endicott and Everett Cawley and family of Tecumseh, were among the many out of town folks that attended the funeral of Mrs. Panko.
