When Hermine was age 8 years her parents moved to High Hill, where she was raised and married. In 1885 the family moved to Weimar.
Hermine was a member of the Evang. Lutheran Church and also of the Ladies' Aid.
Hermine was familiarly and lovingly known to many of her friends as "Tante Mimi".She was truly a grand, good women. To know her was to love her.She was an inspiration to every gathering where she was present. All knew and loved her and her counsel was always listened to with respect and sincere regard, for all knew her advice came from the heart.Up to within a short time before she was taken down sick she was a regular attendant at many church meetings and it was a pleasure indeed to her to do for the Master and His cause. Her example and energy was an inspiration to others. She was a devoted wife and mother at all times, and her visits to the sick room were like a ray of sunshine, carrying cheer and gladness to those upon beds of affliction.
Her health falling some two years ago she went to live with her beloved granddaughter,Mrs.Hilda Watson, and although every care and attention was bestowed upon her by children and grandchildren, she gradually grew weaker until it was plainly evident that her days were numbered.Calmly and peacefully she passed out of this life, about 1:00 a.m. Saturday, and went to meet her loved ones in the other world.
Beautiful and touching funeral services were held for Friederike Hermine Richter,78 years 5 months 15 days,Monday afternoon at the local Lutheran Church the Rev.Paul Piepenbrok officiated, text from 2d Con.12:9
