George and Mairia Veeck along with their children Maira, Peter, Johann, Nicholas and Catherina emigrated to the US and arrived in New Orleans on 29 Nov 1843 on the ship Louis.

OBITUARY: Boonville, Indiana Standard - October 20, 1922:
Nicholas Veeck, age 94 years, a former Boonville resident, died Saturday night at the home of his daughter, Mrs. J.W. Curtis of near Evansville, after several weeks' illness. The body was brought to Boonville and taken to the home of a daughter, Mrs. C.L. Meyer, on Fourth street, where funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Rev. C.J. Schweitzer conducted the services. Burial in Maple Grove cemetery.
Mr. Veeck was born in Oldenburg, Germany, and came to the United States at the age of 15 years, landing at New Orleans. He came direct to Warrick county, locating on a farm east of Boonville where he lived for a few years, later going to Newburgh where he learned the trade of wagon making. He came to Boonville in the early sixties and established a wagon factory and lived here until his retirement, when he moved to Evansville to live with his daughter, Mrs. Curtis, where his death occurred. At the age of 21 he was married to Miss Jacobina Nonweiler who preceded him in death 28 years. Surviving are four children, Mrs. Emma Curtis and Phillip Veeck of Evansville, William L. Veeck of Chicago and Mrs. Clara Meyer of this city, all of whom were present at the obsequies.
