Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at St. Paul's Lutheran church in Blue Hill for Michael Goll, whose death occurred Sunday morning, following a long illness. The pastor the Rev. J.N. Marxen was in charge of the services. Burial was in the Blue Hill cemetery.
Michael Goll was born October 7, 1860, in Heimsheim, Baden, Germany. He came to America with his parents and lived on a farm near Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. In 1878 the family moved to DeWitt, Nebraska and in 1883 relocated on a farm 4 1/2 miles south of Blue Hill.
Mr. Goll was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church. He was united in marriage to Sophie Wagner, and to this union three children were born. One son, Henry and a daughter, Elsie, preceded the parents in death. Mrs. Goll died in 1893.
Mr. Goll, who had been in ill health for several years, made his home with his son, Herbert and family, where he passed away at the age of 85 years, 5 months and 3 days.
The deceased is survived by his son, Herbert, and three grandchildren; also four brothers and four sisters, Charles and William of Blue Hill, Fred of Hastings, and Joseph in California; Mrs. Susie Ruehle of Los Angeles, California, Mrs. Lena Rheingans of Sacramento, California, Mrs. Kate Siebrass and Mrs., Elizabeth Arnold of Blue Hill.
