It is interesting to note that John went by Hagen throughout the records I found online even though his real last name was spelled Haga as shown on the headstone.

OBIT:

John T. Hagen, 72, died at the Veterans Hospital in Walla Walla, Sunday, September 24. He had been taken by Evenson ambulance the preceding day. He had been a patient at the Valley General Hospital since August 18.

Hagen was born December 25, 1888 in Minnesota and has lived in Ellensburg most of his life, the past 40 years at 900 South Ruby Street. At one time he operated a farm on the West Side and worked for Fred Hanson for many years. He was an Army veteran of World War I and married Teresa Ippisch in Spokane, April 18, 1918.

Survivors are his wife at the family home, two brothers, Gilbert and Edward Hagen and a sister, Mrs. Anna Drake, all of Ellensburg. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mrs. Emma McKenna in March, 1960, here.

Hagen was taken to and returned from Walla Walla by Evenson Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 27 in the Evenson Chapel with Rev. Silas Erickson officiating. Burial will be in the IOOF Cemetery.
