Eliza Butler was born in the County of Wicklo, Ireland in 1839 and died Dec. 3, 1908, after an illness of one year. She came to Darlington, Wis. with her father when fifteen years of age, and resided there until Oct. 26, 1858, on which date she was united in marriage to John McDonald at Mineral Point. They moved to Yellowstone settling on the farm, where they have since made their home.
Mrs. McDonald was of a very pleasant disposition, was a good neighbor, a faithful christian and was kind to everyone. She was the mother of nine children, five of whom, Mrs. Ole Kammerude, Mrs. Jas. Coffey, Mrs. Peter Mite, John and Michael, together with her husband, survive her and have the sympathy of all in their sorrow. Three children, Thomas, Patrick and Nellie grew up, but preceded her to the grave a few years.
The funeral was held at St. Michael's church in Yellowstone. The remains were laid to rest in the adjoining cemetery.
