Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, June 9, at Lacock Funeral Home in Durant, with Rev. David Lawson officiating. Lori Leech the organist and Michael Burns the vocalist. Pallbearers are Al Lacock, Les Bland, Herschel Fitzer, Gene Compton, James Walker and Arno Paustian. Burial will be in the Durant Cemetery, Durant, Iowa.
Alvin Lloyd Lilienthal was born August 26, 1914, in Scott County, the son of Henry and Anna (Grafing) Lilienthal. He attended Brown's Business College in Davenport. He married Dorothy Elise Ploen on December 16, 1939, in Davenport. Together they farmed near Durant, until retiring to Durant. He was a member of the Durant Cemetery Assocation for many years.
Surviving are his wife, Dorothy; one daughter, Barbara (Charles) Wuestenberg of Durant; one son, Charles Lilienthal of Durant; two grandchildren; three sisters, Meta Otto and Alice (Ralph) Sievers, both of Davenport and Stella (Carl) Ploen of Wilton; and three brothers, Albert, Raymond and Lawrence Lilienthal, all of Durant.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.
