Beloved husband and father passed away Sunday morning, Nov 14, 1993 at Hoyt Nursing Home. Age 87 years. Mr. Rappuhn was born March 6, 1906 in Rhinewald, Russia to Christian and Mary nee Kober Rappuhn, coming to the United States in 1909. He married Katherine A. Baker on June 10, 1928 in Owosso, Mich. She survives him. They celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary this past June. He was a charter member of Resurrection Lutheran Church and was the custodian for 20 years. He was also a member of the Evangelical Brotherhood of Saginaw. Prior to his retirement in 1969 he was employed by Chevrolet Grey Iron Foundry for 43 years. Surviving besides his wife Katherine are three daughters, two sons and spouses, Ruth, James and Mary Rappuhn, all of Saginaw; Alex and Rose Rappuhn, Grass Valley, Calif; Judy and Don Hirschman, Reese; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one brother and one sister, David Rappuhn, Saginaw; Emma Thatcher, St. Charles; a special nephew, Rex Thatcher, Saginaw and several other nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Christian and Mary Rappuhn, four brothers and two sisters, Henry, John, Jacob, Edward, Amelia, Arlene and daughter-in-law Ilse Rappuhn. Funeral Service will take place 11am Wed, Nov 17, 1993 at Resurrection Lutheran Church. Pastor David F. Bracklein will officiate with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Relatives and friends are welcome to visit at Resurrection Lutheran Church, 2110 Brockway on Mon from 7 to 9pm and on Tue from 2 to 5pm and 7 to 9pm, then on Wed from 10am until time of service. Those who so desire may make memorials to Resurrection Lutheran Church. Arrangements by Wakeman Funeral Home, 1218 N. Michigan Ave.
