Pvt. Alex Rothe, 31, the husband of Mrs. Christine Rothe of 1016 East Fourth street, was killed in action somewhere in Germany on February 25th, a war department telegram revealed today

His parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Rothe, reside at 1043 East Fourth St. Pvt. Rothe was inducted into the armed forces in January, 1944, and spent the holidays last December here with his family. He was sent overseas in January, going first to England and then Belgium.

Alex Rothe was born Nov. 23, 1913, in Loveland and attended local schools.

Besdies his wife and parents he is survived by two children, Patricia Ann, five, and Thomas E. two; four brothers, Pvt. Reuben Rothe with the 168th Field Artillery on Luzon and Pfc. John Rothe, also serving overseas with a field artillery unit, Fred of Longmont and Raymond of Denver; and four sisters, Mrs. John Sterkle of Johnstown, Mrs. Pete Burback of Longmont, Pauline and Rachel Rothe, both of Denver.
