Age 86, formerly of Millcreek Township, daughter of the late Edward and Caroline Kunz Metzler. Mrs. Donnell worked at the Fisher Department Store and had also been a seamstress for the Teens and Queens dress shop for many years. She was a member of St. Jude Roman Catholic Church, was active in the women's auxiliary of the Eagle's Club, and had been an avid bowler in the Erie area.
She was preceded in death by her husband, J.L. "Roy" Donnell, in 1992; a brother, Edward Metzler; and a sister, Antoinette Cage.
Survivors include three sons, John L. Donnell Jr. and his wife Barbara of Pawcatuck, Conn., James E. Hawes and his wife Phyllis of Fairview, and Thomas J. Hawes and his wife Jackie of Erie; a sister, Irene Allison of Erie; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
