Mrs. Igo passed away Tuesday, March 27, 2012 in Chickasha. She was 83 years, 6 months, and 3 days old.
Verla Lorene Koch Igo was born September 24, 1928, at Anadarko, OK. Her parents were Sears William Koch and Nettie Jane Gibson Koch. At the age of 16, Verla graduated from Anadarko High School. The next year, Verla married a young Airman she met at a church "box supper." Frank and Verla had 3 girls and 1 boy, and her life was busy with supporting her family. Everyone who visited the Igo home knew it was the place for fun, games, and some of the best food in the Southwest. Verla's hobbies were many including cooking, crocheting, quilting, fishing, gardening, and watching her grandkids play ball.
She is survived by her son, Erwin Igo and his wife Melia; 3 daughters: Dorothy Sanders and her husband Lonnie, Janice Lee and her husband Sam, and Kathryn Farley and Jim Farley; 2 brother in laws: John Igo and Raymond McCown; 3 sister in laws: Joann Koch, Betty Jameson, and Virginia Owens; 13 grandchildren: John Igo, Jena Bull, Jarod Igo, Brandon Sanders, Amber Crow, Gregg Sanders, Shelly Holden, Jenny Beathard, Chad Scott, Scott Lee, and Stephanie Lee, Cole Farley, and Jessica Sullivan; 22 great grandchildren: Gunner Igo, Paisley Igo, Kas Sanders, Dakotah Baker, Lonni Jane Baker, Kali Sanders, Traister Crow, Kamber Crow, Johnna Holden, Aleesha Holden, Sierra Holden, Delana Holden, Sydney Lee, Jordan Lee, Landon Beathard, Jo Hanna Beathard, Alexa Beathard, Emma Attig, Aiden Scott, Eli Scott, Ava Scott, and Greyson Sullivan; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Frank Igo; her parents, Sears and Nettie Koch; 3 sisters: Eva McCown, Irene Nelson, and Hellen August; and 2 brothers: Allen Koch and Sears Koch Sr.
