WILLIAMSBURG — A memorial service will be held on Sunday, July 16, for Cornelia Van den Steen Heuvel, 82. She died Tuesday, July 11, at Williamsburg Community Hospital.
Mrs. Heuvel was born in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, and moved to Williamsburg with her family in 1955. She will be remembered by her family and many friends nationwide for her love and wisdom.
Mrs. Heuvel is survived by her husband, Johannes J. Heuvel, to whom she was married for 61 years; son, John Heuvel of Holland, Mich.; son, Fred Heuvel of Odenton, Md.; daughter, Gonnie Lewis and daughter, Tina Stoll, both of Williamsburg; son, Jan Heuvel Jr. of Williamsburg; son-in-law, Dr. William Sutherland of Williamsburg, husband of her youngest daughter, the late Corrie Sutherland; grandsons, Jason Lewis, Greg Lewis, Sean Heuvel and Doug Murphy, all of Williamsburg; grandson, Hans Heuvel of Holland, Mich.; grandsons, Chris Heuvel and Allan Heuvel of Odenton, Md.; granddaughters, Tina Trevino, Jackie Boss and Robin Veenhoven, all of Holland, Mich.; and eight great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, July 16, at Bucktrout Funeral Home in Williamsburg. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Salvation Army, 151 Kristiansand Dr., Williamsburg, VA 23188; Hospice at Williamsburg Community Hospital, 1100 Professional Dr., Williamsburg, VA 23185; and the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 323, Williamsburg, VA 23187.
