Gunilda was the daughter of Frank A Noethe and Kathryn Vaske. She married Leo Timmerman on January 20, 1931 in Arcadia, IA. They were the parents of Robert, Denis, Leon, Mary Kay, Carol Ann, Duane, and Larry.

Carrol Daily Times Herald - Tuesday , November 2nd, 1982 - ARCADIA — Mass of the Christian Burial for Mrs. Leo (Gunilda) Timmerman, 72, of Arcadia, will be concelebrated at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, November 4, at St. John church here with the Revs. C.A. Ahmann and Timothy Hogan as celebrants. Mrs. Timmerman died at 8 a.m. Monday, November 1, at her home in Arcadia. Gift-bearers will be grandchildren Sheila and Bryan Timmerman. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Casket bearers will be nephews.

Mrs. Timmerman is survived by her husband Leo, Arcadia; three sons: Robert, Jefferson; Denis, Tacoma, Wash., and LeonTimmerman, Des Moines; two daughters: Mrs. Dan (Mary Kay) Trophagan, Westfield, Ind., and Mrs. David (Carol Ann) Prince, Parker, Colo.; 17 grandchildren; a brother, Francis Noethe, Westside, and a sister, Mrs. Laura Vonnahme, Early.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sons: Duane and Larry; three brothers: Joseph, Edward, and John Noethe, and a sister, Mrs. Pete (Florence) Bachman.

Mrs. Timmerman was born January 16, 1910, at Arcadia, a daughter of Frank and Kathryn Vaske Noethe. She spent her entire lifetime in the Arcadia area, where she attended St. John school. On January 20, 1931, she was married to Leo Timmerman at St. John church by the Rev. Mathias Stork. They farmed south of Arcadia until 1947 when they moved to their present home in Arcadia. They celebrated their golden anniversary in January of 1981. She was a member of St. John parish, the Christian Mothers Sodality, the American Legion Auxiliary and the Arcadia Senior Citizens Club.
