Leo was the son of Joseph Timmerman and Anna Gross. He married Gunilda Noethe on January 20, 1931 in Arcadia, IA. They were the parents of Robert, Denis, Leon, Mary Kay, Carol Ann, Duane, and Larry.

LEO TIMMERMAN - Mass of the Christian Burial for Leo Timmerman will be celebrated at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 12, at St. John's Church in Arcadia, with Monsignor James Lafferty officiating. Mr. Timmerman, 82, died unexpectedly on Thursday, Sept. 8, at his residence in Arcadia. Burial will be in St. John's Parish Cemetery in Arcadia. Lector for the Mass will be Dan Traphagan. Gift bearers will be Randall Timmerman, Tina Traphagan. Kim Timmerman and Angela Prince. Casket bearers will be his nephews. Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll. Rosaries will be recited on Sunday at 3 p.m. and by St. John's parish, at 8 p.m.

Mr. Timmerman was born Dec. 24, 1905, in Maple River, the son of Joseph and Anna (Gross) Timmerman. He attended St. Francis parish schools in Maple River. On Jan. 20, 1931 he married Gunilda Noethe at St. John's Church in Arcadia. The couple farmed south of Arcadia until 1947 when they moved to Arcadia. Mr. Timmerman was a carpenter for many years and since 1963, had been employed by Bob's Electric and Service of Arcadia. He was a member of St. John's Parish in Arcadia.

Mr. Timmerman is survived by three sons: Robert Timmerman and his wife, Rose, of Jefferson; Denis Timmerman and his wife. Deanna, of Tacoma. Wash.; and Leon Timmerman and his wife, Claudia, of Van Nuys, Calif.; two daughters: Mary Kay (Mrs. Dan) Traphagan of Westfield, Ind. and Carol Ann (Mrs. David) Prince of Parker, Colo.; three sisters, Nellie Baumhover of Carroll; Lillian Pottebaum of Halbur, and Toddy (Mrs. Louis) Bueltel of Dedham; 18 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Gunilda in November 1982; two sons, Duane and Larry; a brother, Jay; and a sister, Margaret Venner.
