A native of St. Peter he was born April 23 1892, a son of the late Joseph and Gertrude Wollersheim Bertram, and farmed near Johnsburg until 1947, when he retired and moved to the village.
He married Rose Schmitz at St. John's Catholic Church, Johnsburg on January 19, 1915. He was a member of the Holy Name Society of St. John's Parish.
Surviving is his wife: a son Elmer, Johnsburg; a daughter, Mrs. Raymond Thome, Johnsburg; a brother the Rev. John B. Bertram a Catholic priest, Campbellsport and eight grandchildren.
Two brothers and five sisters precede him in death.
The Requiem Mass will be at 11 a.m., Tuesday, at St. John's Church, with Rev. Robert Bier, pastor, officiating. Mass will follow 10:30 a.m. family rites at Lisowe Funeral Home, St. Cloud. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home this evening and until the time of service Tuesday morning.
