Elsie Anna Hilda Ropers, 84, Lexington, Died Jan. 7, 1994, at Tri-County Hospital.
Services were 1 p.m. on Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lexington with the Rev. Duane Maas officiating. Buriwal was at Mount Hope Cemetery at Sargent, Rhoad Funeral Home of Sargent was in charge of arrangements.
She was born March 20, 1909, at Smithfield to Jacob and Wilhelminnie Karsten Schwarz. She atended country school and was raised near Smithfield.
On November 16, 1927, she married John Ropers at Smithfield. They moved to Hamill, S.D., and in 1946 moved to Oconto. they retired from farming in 1966 and moved to Sargent. He died in August 1982. In 1991, she moved to Lexington.
she was baptized April 4, 1909, and confimred June 29, 1924, at Hope Lutheran church at Smithfied. Mrs. Ropers was a member of Peace Lutheran Church at Sargent and Trinity Lutheran Church.
Survivors include four daughters, Minnie and Husband William Hanson of Octonto, Anna and husband Edmund Graczyk of Summer, Helen and husband Donald Barta and Betty and husband Harmon Barta, all of Lexington; two sons, Henry Ropers and wife Wandy of Rockville, and Louie Ropers and wifeDelors of Sargent; 33 grandchildren; and 49 great-grandchldren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in deathy by her parents, four sisters, seven brothers, two grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
