Julius Lehfeldt passed away on Monday, August 30, 2010. He was born March 19, 1914 in Broad View, Montana.

Mr. Lehfeldt retired in 1974. He was a member of the California Retired Teachers Association and National Association of Retired Teachers. He was a Graduate of the University of California, Berkley and held a Masters degree from the University of Pacific in Stockton, CA. He was a Charter member of the following: Y's Men's Club of Stockton, St. Paul's Methodist Church of Vacaville, Kiwanis Club, Vacaville. Past President of the Lions Club, Arbuckle, CA. He served seven years as a member of the State Council of Education for the California Teachers Association and was chairman of the Professional Rights & Responsibilities Committee. Prior to his retirement, he was Principal and Assistant Superintendent of the Vacaville Unified School District from 1952-1965. He served as Superintendent of Pierce Joint Unified School District in Colusa County, CA, at the time of his retirement. He served as a substitute teacher in Yuma schools after his retirement.

Julius is survived by his four sons and two daughters, Norman Howard of San Francisco, CA, Thomas Charal, Michael Stephan and Patrick William all of Vacaville, CA; Eva May Forsman of Canby, OR, and Janis Marie Moorhouse of San Jose, CA; eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Julius was preceded in death by his loving wife, Lois E. Picton Lehfeldt.
