"ZILWAUKEE - . . . . Michael Wacker, one of the pioneers of this township, died at his residence yesterday
afternoon of pneumonia, aged 83 years and 7 months. Deceased was born at Wurtenburg, Germany in 1813 [sic], came to Ann Arbor in 1847 and settled in Zilwaukiet [sic] in 1851. He was closely connected with the German Lutheran
church and was highly respected in the community. One son and four daughters survive him. The funeral will be held from the German Lutheran church at 1 p.m. Thursday."
